The Learning Department offers a variety of RE activities for students of all key stages and beyond. Most schools combine two activities, a trail and a workshop, to make a whole day of their visit. Trails include the use of artefacts and costume to help teach about RE, as well as the awe-inspiring Cathedral building, whilst most workshops allow them to create a piece of artwork to take home at the end of the visit. Find out more below, or contact a member of our Learning team.

RE Trails

The Cathedral is open every day of the year, but why was it built, how is it used and what do Christians believe? Our Signs & Symbols Trail and The Cathedral as a Place of Worship Trail explore all of these themes and more in an interactive and engaging way. For Key Stage 1 or Early Years pupils, we also offer our popular Celebrations Trail.

RE Workshops

The Cathedral is full of beautiful examples of art and craft, whether it be the building itself or the carvings and wall paintings within. Inspired by the building and designed to supplement our RE Trails, our workshops include Stained Glass, Clay Tiles and Brass Rubbing.

It was an excellent day; well organised and covered a lot of the curriculum.
