We are sad to announce the sudden death of our Head Virger, Paul Underhill. He has served the Cathedral and Diocese for just under 30 years and died following a stroke on Tuesday 26th September.
The regular 12 noon Eucharist on Wednesday 27th September will be a Requiem for him. All are welcome.
Funeral details will be announced shortly.
Welcome to St Albans Cathedral
This is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain and stands over the place where Alban, Britain's first saint, was buried after giving his life for his faith over 1700 years ago. Down the centuries, countless pilgrims have come to honour the saint’s sacrifice and offer their prayers at his shrine – and they still come in their thousands today.
We warmly look forward to welcoming you.
