Abbot's Kitchen

Welcome to the Abbot's Kitchen Cafe at St Albans Cathedral

The Abbot’s Kitchen Cafe, a stone’s throw away from the nearby park, is the perfect place to enjoy tea after you visit the Cathedral or to enjoy lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Outside seating is also available when weather permits with a lovely view of the Norman Tower.

Our philosophy of food is based on three principles; provenance, craft and quality. We create our food with imagination, love and with great attention to detail. Our food is a joy to eat, made with fresh seasonal ingredients, healthy and from sustainable sources. It’s cooked freshly on site, and prepared and served by a team dedicated to giving our guests a special experience.

From 22 February 2023 the Alban Bun will be available for collection on any day of the week between 10-4pm. You can pre-order to collect a bag of four by emailing [email protected].

Sample menu

Homemade soup of the day and granary bread.

Oven baked potatoes with a variety of toppings and a garden salad.

Quiche of the day with a garden salad.

All allergens and food preferences catered for.

You can find Abbot's Kitchen in the Welcome Centre.
