On Sunday 9 June St Leonard's chuch in Flamstead celebrated a significant mile stone - their 800th anniversary! There was a joyous service on Sunday morning, with guest preacher The Very Revd Jo Kelly-Moore, our Dean.

The celebration was further enriched by the completion of the church's highly successful restoration project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). This project has seen the careful restoration of key architectural features, ensuring the church's heritage is preserved for generations to come.

Adding a touch of lightheartedness to the occasion, Dean Jo was presented with a unique gift, a beautifully knitted mouse bishop –  presumably the country cousin of social media sensation Mouse Bishop! This wonderful miniature clergybeast has already made its home in St Albans Cathedral, with fond memories of its time in Flamstead.

The St Albans Cathedral community extends its warmest congratulations to St Leonard Flamstead on their 800th anniversary and the successful culmination of their restoration project. This momentous occasion serves as a testament to the church's enduring spirit and its dedication to serving the local community.
