On Sunday 1 September, the Children’s Ministry team kicked off the new year with our first ever Messy Communion! In this Eucharist, we worshiped with our whole bodies in play, movement, and song. It was an experience of worship where everyone could get their hands messy – from bowls of soapy water to finger paints!

Youth Chaplain Fr Calum said of the event,

‘It was particularly special and moving for young people to experience the Sacrament of Holy Communion in a space that was theirs and a way that spoke their language. I personally feel that there could be no better way to end the summer holidays and begin the new term.’

The service was enjoyed by around 40 people, and hope to be able to do something similar in the near future.
