The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual global campaign which raises awareness of and calls for the elimination of violence against women and girls. The campaign runs from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

"It is devastating that in our world today more than 1 in 3 women experience gender based violence. Daily we hear reports, local and global, of violence, often fatal, against women and girls which is based on attitudes towards females in our communities and nations. Over these 16 days we join our voices with people around the world to call for change, we pray with intention, and we commit ourselves to being part of the transformation of attitudes to ensure the safety and flourishing of women and girls across the world".
