Every time we confess the creed we declare that we are part of something - something that gathers in a particular time and place (your local parish church on a Sunday morning, for instance) and something that reaches across time and space. But what is this ‘Church’ to which we belong? This evening lecture will use the Nicene Creed as a springboard to explore this question, probing what it means to believe and belong in a Church that is one, holy, catholic and apostolic. If you’ve ever wondered why Protestants believe in a catholic Church, what it really means for us to be the Body of Christ, or whether we can honestly hope for unity, this talk is for you.
