About News Cathedral remains open Update | Wednesday 24 February Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday 22 February, the Cathedral remains open and limited communal worship continues. In light of the government's ongoing messaging on staying at home, please do join us in our livestream service every Sunday. On Monday 11 January Chapter reluctantly made the decision to close the Cathedral to the public whilst the Sunday Sung Eucharist is live streamed at 10am. Numbers wishing to attend in person are too high and we need to make sure everyone is as safe as possible. We continue to be open daily from 8.30am until 4.30pm (11am until 4.30pm on Sunday) and all other services remain open to the public, as numbers attending are small and wide distancing is easily achieved. We are very conscious that the new virus brings with it an increased risk, and so we urge anyone who has any degree of vulnerability through age or other causes to join us for services online rather than coming in person. Please do join in our online worship, come and find some peace in the Cathedral and remember that the Cathedral community continue to pray daily for a swift end to this pandemic. Visit this page to view our online services. The Cathedral Shop will be available online for home delivery only. Abbot's Kitchen Cafe will remain closed. Further information can be found on our Visitor Information page.
