The cathedral is very proud of the 26 choristers (14 boys and 12 girls) who sang in the Royal Albert Hall to capacity audiences (over 10,000 people in total!)  in two concerts on 6th December for John Rutter’s Christmas Concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Bach Choir and Roderick Williams (baritone).

“...we were completely blown away and are so grateful we had this opportunity to see our grandson sing in the Royal Albert Hall.” - a chorister grandparent, who had travelled over 1,000 miles for the concert.

The choristers sang two items by Rutter on their own conducted by our Master of the Music, Andrew Lucas, and received rapturous applause. The boys and girls were delighted to meet John Rutter in a preliminary rehearsal, many taking the opportunity to obtain his autograph! Memories of this moment and sharing a stage with John Rutter will last a lifetime and their proud families were there to support them in this once in a lifetime event.
