At Choral Evensong yesterday, the Cathedral gave thanks for the many people whose gifts of music enriched our worship throughout the year, marking the end of the Cathedral Choir's year.

During the service, we offered our heartfelt thanks and prayerful good wishes to six of our Cathedral Choristers, Adam, Clara, Henry, Sophie, Pratyusha and Xavier as they were valedicted at the conclusion of their time with the Choir. We also gave thanks for the faithful service of a number of our Lay Clerks, recognising their significant contribution to the Cathedral's musical life.

The Cathedral bid farewell to Organ Scholar Conor McGlone, who will shortly take up the post of Assistant Director of Music at Birmingham Cathedral. We thank Conor for his dedication and musicianship during his time with us, and assure him of our prayers and best wishes as he begins his new role.

The Dean thanked all who contribute to the Cathedral's flourishing musical tradition, including the Cathedral Choir, Parish Singers, Youth Choir, Junior Choir, Parish Orchestra, the Director of Music, Assistant Director of Music and Partnerships, chaperones, and the many volunteers, families and supporters whose commitment makes this vital ministry possible.

Following the service, members of the congregation and Cathedral community gathered for refreshments to celebrate those departing and to wish them every blessing for the future.
