How to use Click & Collect

Log in to our online catalogue using the Reader number (starting R00) and PIN on your library card.

If you have lost your details or are not yet a member, please email us for help.

You can search for and reserve books using the helpsheets below. Members can loan up to 4 books at a time

You will be emailed by our Library team when your books are ready for collection. If you have not received an email from our Library recently, it means that we do not have a current email address for you. Please email us when you have reserved online so that we can update your record and let you know when your books are ready.

Standard loans are issued for 2 months, although short-term loans are for 2 weeks only. Loan times start when your books are issued and you receive an email from us, and you will be informed of your return date. 

Reservations will be made on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Multiple members may reserve the same book, and the loan will then be issued in turn as it becomes available.

You can also reserve books via email, but we cannot guarantee that the book will still be available or unreserved by the time that we pick up your message.

If you have a book on loan which has not been reserved by someone else, you may renew your book online (see helpsheet below).

Collections and Returns

Collections and returns can be made at our Click & Collect point at the Information Desk in the Welcome Centre. This point will be open during Cathedral opening hours

We would appreciate it if you could collect and return your books promptly once you have been emailed to say that your books are ready for collection. This allows us to keep books circulating as well as possible. Thank you.

Collections: books will be in clearly-labelled eco-friendly paper bags. Please ask the person at the desk to pass you your bag. Everybody at the desk has access to hand sanitiser and will be keeping their hands clean using this.  

Returns: There is a returns box at the click & collect point. Please place your books in here, and they will be collected. All books are quarantined for at least 72 hours before they can be issued to the next member.

Any books not collected after 2 weeks will be returned to the Library.

We are doing everything that we can in order to keep our Library members and Library team safe. The process of returning, quarantining and reissuing books will mean that this service may take longer than usual for us to turn around reservations. Please bear with us as we get things up and running, and iron out any wrinkles as they come along.
