Concerts of Christmas Carols performed by St Albans Bach Choir with the London Metropolitan Brass Quintet and  James McVinnie (organ), conducted by William Fox

A collection for a local charity will be made after each concert.

St Albans Bach Choir, one of the country’s foremost choral societies, has been firmly woven into the fabric of St Albans musical life for over a hundred years. During that time the choir has performed  a wide variety of music, staging three major concerts and two charity carol concerts each year in St Albans Cathedral.  Over the years, the choir’s concerts have been enriched through collaboration with celebrated soloists and orchestras, and they have worked with distinguished guest conductors including Sir John Rutter, who has described the choir as ‘wonderful’.

Most concerts take place in the beautiful surroundings of St Albans Cathedral but the choir has also performed abroad and in other major UK venues such as Cadogan Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.

Following a century-old tradition, the choir’s Music Director is the Cathedral’s Director of Music – currently William Fox – and for special concerts the choir is often joined by the St Albans Cathedral choirs.
