How will this affect trees and wildlife? We are looking to enhance the conservation area by selective retention of better-quality trees and suitable new tree and native hedging. The trees to be removed to make space for the development are of poor quality, particularly the hollies that border the street, which are declining in health and highly unlikely to survive. All the trees along the eastern boundary of site by the garages will stay, as well as the trees that are on the border with the Orchard. Together with the new tree and native hedging at the front of the site, this will protect and enhance the verdant nature of this part of the conservation area. We will carry out the works in line with the ecology impact assessment available here, and governed by an arboricultural method statement which is being prepared and which will accompany the full application.
