Visiting Choirs

When the Cathedral Choirs are on leave, the Cathedral welcomes visiting choirs from around the country and abroad to help maintain a regular pattern of choral services. 

We take applications from visiting choirs to sing:
  • Most Mondays inside and outside of term time
  • During schools holidays and half terms
In 2021 we have the following dates available:
  • 4 & 5 September 2021
In 2022 we have the following dates available:
  • 28 & 29 May 2022
  • Various weekends in August 2022
  • 22 & 23 October 2022

    The Cathedral Organ was built in 1962 by Harrison & Harrison of Durham to a design by Peter Hurford (then Master of the Music) and Ralph Downes.

An Update | 12 January 2021

Following the Prime Minister's announcement of a national lockdown on Monday 4 January, government regulations allow us to remain open and permit limited communal worship. In light of the government's messaging on staying at home, please do join us in our livestream service every Sunday.
