The Cathedral has had a very close link with Townsend High School since the school was founded in 1933, and today it was a great pleasure to welcome them for their annual Dedication Service. The service was conducted by Fr Calum the Cathedral’s Youth Chaplain, who acts as chaplain to Townsend, and had input from a large number of students. The theme of the service focussed on the school’s new motto, ‘Love your neighbour, love yourself, love the journey’, and the sermon was based on the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

During the service, Fr Calum offered God’s blessing for the new headteacher, Anthony Flack, who began working at the school earlier this month. Fr Calum said, ‘it was great to welcome Mr Flack to the Cathedral for the first time in his new role, and we look forward to working together. We have committed to an ever-closer relationship between Cathedral and School, and I am excited to see where God will lead this ministry in the years to come.’
