On Wednesday night members of the College of Canons gathered from around the Diocese with Bishop Alan for the annual Cellarer’s Feast.  Dean John Witcombe, Dean of Coventry, gave a powerful address on the subject of Reconciliation which he defined as ‘journeying together from a fractured past to a shared future’.  He challenged us that to take this journey involves a commitment to listen to one another, to look to form relationship with one another and to choose to walk together.  Quoting John Paul Lederach, Dean John concluded by suggesting ‘you have never really engaged in the work of reconciliation until your own people think you have betrayed them’.  We were blessed with a feast in body, mind and spirit.
