This afternoon at 3pm at St Albans Cathedral, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss, and the Lord Bishop of St Albans, The Rt Revd Dr Alan Smith gathered with faith leaders and other civic and faith representatives from across Hertfordshire as an expression of solidarity and a shared concern for the situation in Israel and Gaza.

The Lord Lieutenant offered a prayer and read a message of peace from His Majesty the King before the Bishop led a further prayer and invited those gathered to keep a two minute silence to pray in silence for peace.

We stand together at this time of concern, united in our shared humanity seeking peace in our world and a desire to foster goodwill and strong bonds of peace in our communities.
