Join us on Saturday 16 July at 5pm for a service of thanks and farewell to Bishop Michael Beasley, Bishop of Hertford, as he leaves the  Diocese of St Albans, to become the next Bishop of Bath and Wells.

Bishop Michael’s wife, Lizzie Jeanes, has also been Deputy Director of our Diocesan Schools Team. We give thanks for God for their faithful and wonderful leadership in our Diocese and for their enthusiastic support for our Cathedral.

Bishop Michael said: ‘I’m hugely grateful for the seven enormously happy years that I’ve been called to serve alongside the people and churches of the Diocese of St Albans. I’ve learnt so much from everyone here – in good times and in bad, from young and old, from tiny villages to city centres. I thank everyone for all the encouragement, help and affection that you’ve given to me and our family. I will always hold St Albans in my heart and look forward to taking all that I’ve gained here to my new adventures in Bath and Wells.’

We wish Bishop Michael, Lizzie and their family every blessing in this next stage of their ministry. Do come and join us to say thank you and farewell on Saturday 16 July. Jo Kelly-Moore, Dean
