This Sunday we launched our new Children’s Area in the Nave during the 9.30am service. It was well used by a good group of our young people and their families. There was space to play, a table to colour, and it was very close to the platform, so there was a great view of the service. It was a great pleasure to see that so many young people appreciated the space, and it brought them right into the centre of the worship, where they and their parents could enjoy being a full part of the worshiping community for the whole service.

Youth Chaplain Fr Calum says, ‘at the Cathedral we look to integrate children into every aspect of our community life. This move represents our commitment to that; we want children to be seen in church, to see what happens there, and to know that they belong here. They are not just the future of the church – they are the church of today’.

Speaking to The Dean afterwards, one child exclaimed, ‘I love it!’.
