Learning Online

Join our events from the comfort of your own home

We've loved hearing from attendees how much they have enjoyed learning online! Thank you for your encouragement and feedback. It has also been lovely to be able to gather together in person since restrictions were lifted.

Our new hybrid approach will mean that people can join us for live events either in person or online - whichever suits you better! By using Zoom Webinar, online attendees will have all of the benefits of joining in person - including asking questions to our excellent speakers - all from the comfort of their own homes. Whether you live too far away to make the journey, other commitments make it tricky to come along in-person, or you simply find it easier to join from home, all are most welcome to continue learning as part of our online community.

Hybrid events

While some of our events will take place only online or only in-person, the majority of our events are hybrid ones, where people can join live in either form. You will have to select whether you intend to join online (via Zoom Webinar) or in-person when you buy your tickets - please make a note for yourself when you book!

These hybrid events are a huge leap for us, and we're doing our best to ensure that they run smoothly and are enjoyable and engaging for both the in-person and online audience. Please bear with us as we find the best way to run them.

Talks

All talk attendees will receive a welcome email after 12pm on the day of the event. This includes instructions for arrival for those joining in person, and joining details for those attending via Zoom Webinar. If you have not received this information from us by 3pm, please check your spam or junk folder and then email us at [email protected]

When it comes to the Q&A section at the end of the talk, you can submit questions for the speaker and they will be asked on your behalf.

Courses

If you are joining online for these, you will receive all of the course information, along with joining instructions, before the course starts (usually the week before for those who have booked early).

If you have not received this information from us by 3pm on the day of the first session, please check your spam or junk folder and then email us at [email protected] on the day of the course starting. You will use the same zoom joining details for each week of the course, so please be sure to save these somewhere.

You will be able to see the tutor and their slides, and the other online students if they have chosen to have their cameras on. Please try to keep yourself on mute if you are not speaking.

Please watch this video which gives you a bit more information about joining courses online:

New to Zoom?

You can find some answers to FAQs by clicking on the button below, and instructions on how to join. We are unable to offer technical support on the day of our events, but if you are unsure about using zoom, please contact us in advance and we can arrange to talk you through how to join. You can now also join in talks by ringing in over the phone – so no wifi or computer required!
