There are lots of ways to explore the Christian faith here at the Cathedral.

One of the best ways is to just come to services and allow the words, prayers and music speak to you. All are welcome to attend any of our services and please introduce yourself to a member of the clergy if you are new or visiting.

The clergy are always happy to meet with members of the congregation and wider community to talk about faith issues. At various points during the year we offer small group sessions to ask the Big Questions about the Christian faith. This is an opportunity to reflect with others and for some people this will lead to being confirmed in church.

We offer Confession on a Saturday at 5.45pm and at other times of the week by appointment, during Lent we offer one-on-one Spiritual MOTs and we are also pleased to offer spiritual direction at other times of the year as well.

Please get in touch with the Rev'd Will Gibbs, Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care if you would like to meet a member of the clergy to discuss your faith.

Home Groups

Home Groups allow members of the congregation to study parts of the Bible or elements of the Christian faith in a relaxed and informal setting. The groups choose their own topics to discuss and are supported by the Cathedral clergy with occasional visits and teaching. They meet throughout the year in the informal setting of individuals’ homes or a room at the Cathedral and each group has anything between four to twelve members.
