Adopt a Brick  >
St Albans Cathedral is renowned for its striking and varied architecture.

The magnificent tower, built over 900 years ago from recycled Roman bricks, survives from the days of the great medieval Abbey. Conserving and protecting the fabric of this great building is an ongoing challenge.

Be part of the Cathedral's heritage

From just £25, you can adopt a Roman brick from the medieval tower and support the future preservation of the Cathedral and its precincts. This can be as a personal donation, as a gift for family or friends, or in memory of a loved one.

All adoptions include a dedication or gift message and you or your chosen recipient will receive a personalised adoption pack with a certificate and details of your adopted feature. Adoptions last a lifetime (100 years) and are recorded under the name of your choosing in our Archives in perpetuity.

Adoption levels range from £25 to £1000.
