Abbey Gate House Open Garden - Christian Aid Week
Mon, 14 May 2018
Enjoy an exclusive visit to the gardens of Abbey Gate House, home to the Bishop of St Albans on Monday 14 May and help raise funds for Christian Aid Week.
The garden covers just over two acres and has been transformed in recent years. It is divided into several sections with different styles of planting. The two main parts of the garden are separated by a small orchard. At the far end of the garden there is a small area of woodland (filled with snowdrops, hellebores and bluebells in the spring). Bishop Alan, who is a keen gardener, will be on hand to answer questions.
The garden is located in the heart of St Albans, opposite the west end of the Cathedral. Postcode AL3 4HD.
There will be an opportunity to enter a raffle on the evening, to win a complimentary lunch for two, at local independent restaurant, Lussmans.
Tickets are strictly limited to 100 so book quickly to avoid disappointment. Proceeds will go to support people like Jocelyne, who lost everything following a hurricane in her home country of Haiti. Read Jocelyne's story | Christian Aid
The garden will be open from 6pm to 7.30pm.
There will be no access to Abbey Gate House and there are no toilet facilities on site. Parking is available in nearby residential roads. Unfortunately there is no disabled access.
In the event of inclement weather the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event. Ticket holders will receive a refund.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday 12 April at 9am
