The Cape Crusaders

A concert in aid of St Albans Cathedral Music Trust

Friday, 12 October, 7.30pm

Venue: St. Nicholas Church, Great Munden

After an enjoyable concert five years ago, pianist and composer, Pete Letanka returns to St Nicholas church with "The Cape Crusaders": a sextet inspired by the music of the South African jazz pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim.

This new ensemble (of piano, bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone and trombone) have come together to not only perform and record, but also to inspire young people to take an active interest in music via creative music workshops.  The music of Abdullah Ibrahim reflects his early life in Cape Town as well as the influences of his fellow jazz pianists, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk.

Come and enjoy a wonderful candle-lit evening of magical music in the unique venue of St Nicholas Church, by kind permission of Howard Guard. All proceeds to go to St Albans cathedral Music Trust.

Tickets are £30.
