Last Tuesday's joint Abbey Tots and Mothers' Union (MU) Toddler Toddle around the Cathedral was great fun and enjoyed by all. This Platinum Jubilee inspired event, kicked off by Dean Jo, is to raise funds for the three MU supported women's refuges in the Diocese and for MU's Away From It All holiday scheme for disadvantaged families. As well as sponsorship money ad hoc contributions were also given by interested passers-by! A great example of Abbey groups coming together for a worthwhile cause and at the same time raising our profile beyond the Cathedral.

Rev'd Calum Zuckert, Minor Canon Youth Chaplain, said, 'We were thrilled to take part in the Mothers’ Union’s Toddler Toddle initiative this week, which was a great success. Our Abbey Tots group is consistently over-subscribed, and our toddlers and supporters enjoyed the opportunity to do something different and support this important project. As ever, I’m grateful to the work of countless volunteers, and particularly the members of the Mothers’ Union who promoted this event. News will follow of how much the grand total of what we have raised is, but one toddler has already reported raising over £100 single-handedly!'
