Alban Pilgrimage is back for 2023 Alban Pilgrimage 2023 With Alban Weekend back this year, join us on Saturday 24 June from 11am for Alban Pilgrimage, a magnificent procession to celebrate Alban, Britain's first saint. Each year, 12ft tall carnival puppets, representing figures from the story of St Alban, take to the streets to re-enact his historic story. The puppets are accompanied by people of all ages dressed as lions, Roman soldiers, angels, chariots and more. If your child wants to participate in the procession, head to our registration page now before the closing day on 5 June. Children's Alban Pilgrimage Continue the Pilgrimage Day celebrations with an afternoon of medieval-themed fun on the Cathedral Orchard from 12noon-5pm. Enjoy local food and drinks accompanied by re-enactments, dancing, crafts and music.
