We are excited to invite you and your pupils to a captivating and stimulating day of interactive talks and workshops promoting the compatibility of science and faith and gives students the opportunity to discover, discuss and debate the some of life's biggest questions. Ideal for students from Key Stage 3 and 4, the event will be running on Wednesday 2nd October 2022 from 10am to 2.30pm.

God and the Big Bang?

God and the Big Bang is a project based at St John's College at the University of Durham. The talks and workshops equip young people with the tools they need in order to form their own opinions and engage in a rational, exciting, well-reasoned and thought-provoking discussion.

Research done by the project has shown that 56% of Year 11 students in Church of England schools agree that 'Science makes it hard to believe in God.  Engaging with scientists of faiths delivering the workshops gives students the tools they need to form their own opinions and consider the place for science in God's world.

We have some fabulous speakers for our event to include:

He subsequently went on to work within the Education department at Thinktank Science Museum, Birmingham. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day. The activities wonderfully supported our current school work in science.
