Cathedral Education Centre to Host First Silent Disco
Once the preserve of music festivals and special club nights, the silent disco is about to make its debut at St Albans Cathedral. On Friday 7th July the award winning Cathedral Education Centre will be holding its first end of term retreat for Year Six pupils. The children will be met by the Education Centre team before embarking on their very own journey of discovery through the park and up to the Cathedral for a day of activities. The day will conclude with a silent disco which will give the children a unique opportunity to dance to their heart’s content in the historic surroundings of St Albans Cathedral.
Steve Clarke, Cathedral Education Officer said “These events have been designed to give pupils transitioning from primary to secondary school a chance to look back at their education so far and look forward to their futures”. As well as retracing the steps of Alban, activities will include bubble blowing mindfulness and the making of a time capsule. Preparations for the first event are almost complete and we look forward to welcoming our first group of dancing pilgrims on Friday.
