St Albans Cathedral Environmental Team do their bit for Sustainable St Albans Week
This week is Sustainable St Albans and St Albans Cathedral Environmental Team are doing their bit to help. Back in October, the team spent a day in the Orchard at Verulamium Park, where they are in the process of creating an environmentally friendly summer flowering meadow. The area has been sown with a wild flower meadow seed mix, which it is hoped will promote a greater variety of species of flower. Wildflowers also help to promote the insect population, by providing habitats and hunting grounds in the summer months. Although there isn’t much to see there now, in the spring the team hope to see a wide range of flowers come in to bloom.
