Carols on the Hour 2015

On 19th December 2015, the Cathedral will host a number of Choirs for our fun-filled ‘Carols on the Hour’. Between 11am and 4pm, members of the public are invited to take a break from Christmas shopping and join us for half an hour of singing carols and celebrating the Christmas season. Choirs who will take part in this exciting event include the Choir of St Peter’s Church, St Albans; St Alban’s Rock Choir; St Albans Cathedral Parish Singers and Parish Juniors and the choir of St Hilda’s School. Finally, also performing, will be the Cathedral's own men, Abbey Girls Choir, Abbey Singers and the Cathedral Choir. Suitable for all the family, don't miss out on the chance to get a real taste of Christmas in this beautiful, atmospheric Cathedral.

11am: The Choir of St Peter’s, St Albans

12pm: St Albans Rock Choir

1pm: Parish Singers & Parish Juniors

2pm: The Choir of St Hilda’s School

3pm: Girls, Men and Abbey Singers

4pm: Boys, Men and Abbey Singers

There will be collections throughout the day. Ten percent of giving at all our services goes to charity. The charity chosen this Christmas is Médecins Sans Frontier.  Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading emergency medical humanitarian aid organisation. They provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. They work in over 60 countries and go to places where others cannot or choose not to go. The balance of giving goes towards the cost of the services and the upkeep of this ancient Cathedral
