Poetry Recital: Remembrance

Tue, 14 November 2017

November is often called the Month of Remembrance. From the children's cries on Bonfire Night recalling the Gunpowder Plot, "Remember, Remember", through to the sombre nature of Remembrance Day on the Eleventh day of the Eleventh Month, and Remembrance Sunday when those who lost their lives in armed conflict are brought to mind.  In ecclesiastical and liturgical terms the month begins with All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, with their particular focus on those who have gone before us.

Jonathan Smith, the Archdeacon of St Albans leads another Poetry Evening with poems inspired by the theme of Remembering and Remembrance.

As always, people are welcome to bring a poem to share.
