Thomas Aquinas for Beginners

Sat, 2 December 2017

Thomas Aquinas is undoubtedly one of the most—if not the most—influential theologians and philosophers of all time, with an unquestionable provenance in the Western intellectual tradition. Owing to the large volume and intellectual sophistication of his work, however, it can be difficult for people outside the domain of theological sophistication to get a basic and accessible overview of his oeuvre.

This study day seeks to fill this gap, by looking at Aquinas' life and historical context, the broad parameters of his work, and the different appropriations of Thomism at work in Christian theology both past and present.
