Independent Project (SACT) or Dissertation (SACT+)
Sun, 12 May 2019
This module gives students the opportunity to develop an extended piece of supported independent research. The Independent Project is for those who have completed at least two core modules of SACT, and the Dissertation is for those who have completed two or more modules of SACT+. Based on a research proposal, students complete a 5,000 word (SACT) or 10,000 word (SACT +) project/dissertation, with the support of a supervisor.
Completion of this module is worth 20 credits of SACT or SACT+.
Students are also required to attend a meeting with the Adult Learning Officer on research methods and writing skills, and present some early work to fellow students in an informal seminar.
