St Albans Cathedral is recruiting a Head of Development & Fundraising to work alongside the Cathedral’s senior staff and trustees to lead and manage all aspects of fundraising for the Cathedral.  You will be a member of the Cathedral’s Senior Management Team.

The role requires a focus on both ongoing revenue funding and larger major project fundraising, developing existing fundraising programmes and establishing new ones. The role provides executive support and direction to the Cathedral’s fundraising bodies. A significant part of the role is to build strong professional relationships with potential and existing major donors and foundations, ensuring good stewardship of funders at all times, alongside the development and submission of grant applications to trusts and foundations and associated reporting.

We are seeking someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is collaborative and will be supportive across a small staff team, and also able to influence and effect strategic outcomes at a senior management level.

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and also works closely with the Dean and the Chair of the Alban Foundation. It is a part time role of between 25-30 hours per week to be negotiated.
