There were many significant influences in the life of Alice, HRH Princess Andrew of Greece: born in 1885, a great granddaughter of Queen Victoria; marrying into the Greek royal family; being the mother of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Join Gail Stewardson on Monday 6 December from 7.30pm. Among others, this talk will examine her special relationship with her Aunt Ella, Grand Duchess Elizabeth of Russia, in whose footsteps she followed when she became a nun at the end of her life.  It will also focus on how she is counted as Righteous Among the Nations at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

This talk will be held online via Zoom.  If you'd like to attend the event but are not free to join us live, please do buy a ticket and you'll receive a link to the recording on the day of the event.

About Gail Stewardson

Gail was first introduced to Alice, HRH Princess of Greece, in her trustee role for The Friends of Saints Martha and Mary Convent, a charity she founded in 1997.  The organisation’s late Patron and Vice President, Countess Mountbatten of Burma and Margarita, HRH Princess of Baden, shared with her fond memories of their close relative - whether as a beloved aunt or grandmother.  Together with Gail, they played a leading role in restoring the convent, founded by Grand Duchess Elizabeth in Moscow, Russia, which Princess Alice took as her inspiration in later life.

Gail will be donating her fee to The Friends of the Saints Martha and Mary Convent of Mercy, Moscow working on a project in the West Bank linked to Princess Alice.
