Children's Worship

‘Virtual Children’s Church'

It is a great sadness that we can’t meet together for Children’s Church on a Sunday morning and for our midweek sessions of Abbey Tots and STOMP. It may look and feel different but we are still church, so our Youth Chaplain has put together some materials to help us, as a Children’s Church, stay connected with one another and with God. On a weekly basis – coming out on a Wednesday - you will find a YouTube virtual Children’s Church session and a weekly reflection sheet to do together. Please feel free to adapt it slightly to make it appropriate for your child's age range. From all the Children’s Church Team – we hope you enjoy it!

There will be no Children's Church on Wednesday 29 July. Enjoy some well earnt rest and time with your family in God’s beautiful creation.

If you are in need of some red paper, please feel free to collect some from our Welcome Centre.

Make a Paper Rose

Wednesday 10 June

On the 21st June we will celebrate Alban, Britain’s first Saint. St Alban takes such an important place in the life of the Cathedral and the city.

Sadly this year the Alban Pilgrimage won’t be able to look how it normally looks! However, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate together Albans example of courage, compassion and hospitality and the important place that these values take in our Cathedral and city.

Therefore, in preparation for St Albans day we that we are inviting people to make red roses out of paper – as demonstrated in the video below – and place them in their windows. If you make a rose and place it in your window please do let us know by emailing the Youth Chaplain at: [email protected] – we would love to see how many roses we can get around the city. Please do share this far and wide, it would be great if we could make this a city wide project!

Why don’t you explore why roses are important in celebrating Alban? Next week we will think about this together
