‘Virtual Children’s Church'

It is a great sadness that we can’t meet together for Children’s Church on a Sunday morning and for our midweek sessions of Abbey Tots and STOMP. It may look and feel different but we are still church, so our Youth Chaplain has put together some materials to help us, as a Children’s Church, stay connected with one another and with God. On a weekly basis – coming out on a Wednesday - you will find a YouTube virtual Children’s Church session and a weekly reflection sheet to do together. Please feel free to adapt it slightly to make it appropriate for your child's age range. From all the Children’s Church Team – we hope you enjoy it!

Wednesday 8 April

Next Wednesday, we will take you through how to make your very own Easter Gardens. This is a really fun activity to do as a family and explore the events of Good Friday and Easter - leaving you with a beautiful decoration. To take part there are a few things that you will need to have available:

  • A seed tray or dish
  • Some soil
  • Sticks from the garden or lolly pop sticks to make crosses
  • A small flower pot or yoghurt pot to make a cave/tomb
  • A small piece of white cloth or a tissue to act as the white sheets in the tomb
  • Small flowers, such as daisies from the garden
  • Small stones or bark to form a path
  • Mustard seeds - which will have started to grow by Easter day!

Get ready to join in on Wednesday 8 April and make your Easter Garden along to our video.
