Children and young people

The Cathedral has a wide range of groups for children and young people which are active during school term time. The groups provide an opportunity for children and young people, both from within our congregation and outside to worship, socialise and have fun together.

These include:

  • Abbey Tots Service- an interactive, age appropriate service that welcomes pre-school age children and anyone who cares for them. The service will include Bible stories, songs, instruments, music, prayers and a light picnic for children and their teddy bears. Every Thursday during term-term, 10am-11am, St Michael Chapel.
  • St Albans Young Singers - a singing group for young people aged 6 - 12, Monday afternoons 5 - 6pm. They sing lots of different styles of music and the group is open to anybody who is enthusiastic about music.
  • Xcite - a youth group for ages 8 - 12 on Fridays during term time, 6.30 - 8pm.
  • Guitar Club - free guitar tuition for young people on Fridays, 5.30 - 6.20pm (twice per month). View flyer here.

Unfortunately, Abbey Youth (for ages 16-18) and Abbey Squad (for ages 12-15) are not currently running. However, this is only temporary. Please check back in due course for more information.

If you would like more information about any of our children or youth groups, please contact our Youth Chaplain, Calum Zuckert on 01727 890206 or [email protected]
