The sixth of February is Waitangi Day in Aotearoa New Zealand. It commemorates the signing of the Treaty between the indigenous people of New Zealand and the British Crown in 1841. Dean Jo is Chaplain to the New Zealand Society UK. This week she led the annual Waitangi Day Service in London, which was attended by His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex and his Excellency the Honorable Phil Goff, the New Zealand High Commissioner. Dean Jo said, ‘As we gathered we prayed for those who have died in the floods in Auckland and in the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and committed ourselves as citizens of the world to care for the earth.
