Members of the Eco Team at St Albans Cathedral spent a lovely morning digging a pond in the Garden behind the Cathedral Offices. In time, this will fill with rain water and provide an excellent habitat to encourage bio-diversity in the grounds. It will be interesting to see what species come and make their home as a result of the pond and we will update you of news in the coming months.

This is part of a piece of work to regenerate the garden and in the near future the Flower Guild will be starting to grow some plants and flowers to use in their floral arrangements in the Cathedral, keeping more of their materials homegrown and local. We will also be establishing some wood chip pathways and adding a couple of benches to encourage staff members to enjoy the peaceful surroundings during lunch and coffee breaks.
