The two internationally renowned St Albans International Organ Competitions in Interpretation and Improvisation are amongst the longest running of their kind in the world. They can celebrate a roll call of past winners that includes some of the most influential organists of our time.

The competitions offer intimate music-making at the highest level by some of the finest young organists from across the globe, some of whom are already first prizewinners of other organ competitions. Across the rounds of the competitions, audiences will experience performances of compelling individuality and the mounting excitement as the eventual winners emerge through the various elimination rounds.

You can also buy a special Competition Season Ticket, giving access to all twelve competition rounds and the Interpretation & Improvisation Final and Prizegiving. This gives a saving of £30 compared to buying tickets for all the competition rounds and the Interpretation & Improvisation Final individually. (A Season Ticket does not include the Concerto Final on 19 July)

Step-free access: St Albans Cathedral has limited car parking spaces available for registered disabled badge holders in Sumpter Yard. The Cathedral is accessible for wheelchairs. Wheelchair spaces and carer discounts for events at St Albans Cathedral can only be booked through the Box Office. Please call 01727 890290 or visit the Cathedral. St Saviour’s and St Peter’s churches have small car parks with spaces for disabled patrons. For St Michael’s, parking is available in the adjacent museum car park. St Peter’s, St Saviour’s, St Michael’s and Christ Church Spitalfields all have disabled access.
