Children 5 and under go free but do require a ticket.

Companion tickets are free and can be booked online.

On Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 October, the 6pm timeslot is a dedicated SEND session. These sessions are now sold out.

Further information 
  • Tickets will be sold at 15 minute intervals. The booking time is the start of your journey.
  • Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your time slot.   
  • We anticipate the experience taking around an hour, but it can be enjoyed at your own pace. 
  • There is strictly no parking at the Cathedral. Please use nearby city car parks. For disabled visitors, we have limited spaces which must be pre-booked with the Cathedral Office ([email protected] | 01727 890 210). If no spaces are available, then recommended drop off is at the Sumpter Yard entrance.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. 
  • Photography is permitted, but please do not use tripods or any other large equipment.
  • Access will be via the Cedar Tree door in Sumpter Yard (next to the Welcome Centre).
  • The event is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. You will walk all around the Cathedral to different elements of the exhibition. It is not seated.   
  • The exhibition includes sounds, music and moving and flashing images as well as bright lights and areas of darkness within the Cathedral.

Booking Instructions

The event is running from Tuesday 25 October to Saturday 29 October. The first entry time is 6pm each day and the last entry time is 8.45pm.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your booking time.

Science | Lighting up our Universe is the final part of our trilogy of light shows, produced by Artistic Collaboration Luxmuralis, creators of Poppy Fields and Space Voyage, Life | What a Wonderful World? experienced by over 30,000 visitors at St Albans Cathedral in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
