The idea of pilgrimage appeared quite often in Oscar Romero’s sermons, either directly, or as a metaphor for the Christian life.

This study day will be exploring the meaning of pilgrimage in the life of a martyr (Oscar Romero), and reflect that with the idea of martyrdom in a church of pilgrimage (St Albans). We will be working with fragments of Oscar Romero’s sermons through the Liberation of Theology hermeneutical method: ‘to see, to judge, to act’.
