Lessons & Carols are a true staple of the Cathedral’s Christmas programme

The beautiful, candlelit service of Lessons and Carols features music from the Cathedral Choirs and traditional seasonal readings.

Dates and Times:

Saturday 19 December, 7.30pm

Sunday 20 December, 4pm & 7.30pm

Monday 21 December, 7.30pm

Each date contains the same order of service. Please only book tickets to one service. 

Due to reduced capacity within the Cathedral, our Lessons & Carols services are ticketed this year. All tickets are free of charge, available using the booking system below. Ticket bookings are capped at 4 tickets within your household bubble.

General booking will be released on Friday 11 December at 10am.

On the day:
  • Please enter via the Welcome Centre (Sumpter Yard, AL1 1BY).
  • Everyone is required to wear a face covering unless they have a medical exemption.
  • Doors will open 30 minutes before the start of the service. Please be seated 15 minutes before the service starts, and remain seated for the duration of the service.
  • Please show your ticket on your smart phone upon arrival, or bring a printed copy of your ticket. 
  • Unfortunately, visitor parking is not available at St Albans Cathedral. Details of the closest city centre car parks are available on the St Albans City and District Council website.
  • We have limited disabled parking at the Cathedral. If you require a disabled parking space, please contact [email protected]. Information regarding access inside the Cathedral can be found here.

 Booking will close at 10am 24 hours before each event.
