The Rev’d Canon Dr Dennis Stamps will be leading this 10-week course in an introduction to academic study of the New Testament, and will examine the structure, purpose, and themes of several genres of New Testament texts. The texts will be set in the context of the world in which they were produced and the earliest development of Christianity.

This course will take place online via Zoom on Tuesdays from 11 January to 22 March (exc 15th Feb), 7.30pm - c9.15pm.

This course can be taken as part of the Certificate in Theology, or Certificate in Theology Plus. Full essay information will be provided once the course has started. Please note you can enjoy the course without doing an essay for SACT.

About Rev’d Canon Dr Dennis Stamps
Dennis trained for ministry at Westcott House Cambridge and following his curacy was involved in theological education at the Queen’s Foundation teaching New Testament and serving as Dean and Principal. He came to St Albans Diocese in 2002 and is now Rector and Pastor at St Nicholas Church in Harpenden. Dennis has particular commitment to Ecumenism, adult theological education, and research and writing on the New Testament.
