When the Cathedral Choir and Abbey Girls' Choir are on leave, the Cathedral welcomes visiting choirs from the around the country and abroad to help maintain a regular pattern of choral services.

Available dates for Visiting Choirs usually coincide with school holidays and half-terms. The Diary is planned at least a year in advance, but it is always worth contacting us at any time to discuss availability.

We do ask Visiting Choirs to provide a recording in advance, especially prior to their first visit here.

We are now able to offer the following vacancies for Visiting Choirs in 2011:

Sunday 2nd January (11.15am Choral Eucharist & 6.30pm Evensong)

Monday 24th October (5pm Evensong)

Tuesday 25th October (5pm Evensong)

Thursday 27th October (5pm Evensong)

Friday 28th October (5pm Evensong)

Available dates in 2012 will appear here shortly.

For all Weekend dates, we ask all Visiting Choirs to sing on both days (Saturday & Sunday), full details are included in our notes for visiting choirs. To discuss any dates, please contact the Cathedral Office (details below).

If you would like to sing a weekday Evensong, please contact the Cathedral Office to discuss dates. Please note there are currently no vacancies for the May Bank Holiday Mondays in 2011 & 2012.
