The Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban
The Knitivity has set off from St Albans Cathedral and can be spotted throughout the area during the run up to Christmas. This unique nativity scene with metre-high, hand-knitted characters will be travelling around local businesses and landmarks from the end of November, helping to make the Christmas story accessible and fun.
This year's stops include the Frost Fair at Hatfield House, Ayletts Nursery, Cuthberts Toys and the Inn on the Park, St Albans. Full details of all its locations can be found at: http://www.stalbanscathedral.org/news/events
And this year there are two new additions to the Knitivity – a mother and baby camel. All of the lovable figures have been knitted by Ann Hudson, a Rainbow and Brownie leader for the Cathedrals’ packs. Ann has clocked up over 500 hours of knitting time and used over 5 kilos of wool!
The Knitivity will be on its travels until Saturday 17th December when it will return to St Albans Cathedral for Carols on the Hour.
