From exciting Tower Tours to cracking the mystery of who’s been ringing the Cathedral bells in the middle of the night, there are FREE tours and trails to suit the whole family on this special weekend - Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January.
You can also enjoy 10% OFF the Abbot's Set Lunch Menu at the Abbot's Kitchen on Saturday 28th (12.00 - 14.30).
Please note for tours marked 'VOUCHER REQUIRED' numbers are limited. Vouchers are only available from the Residents First Information Point at the Old Town Hall, St Peters Street on the day of the tour itself, on a first come, first served basis.
Saturday 28th January
TOWER TOURS 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30 - VOUCHER REQUIRED
This exciting tour takes visitors up 193 steps, winding through narrow, medieval staircases and passageways to the roof of the Norman Tower.
Numbers are limited to 12 people per tour. Vouchers available from the Tourist Information Centre on the day of the tour. Minimum age 11. Restrictions apply. A safari through the Cathedral! Discover the carvings and pictures of animals, the stories behind them and speculation as to why they are there.

TEXTILES EXHIBITION 10.00 – 15.00
See the exquisite work of the Cathedral’s Textile Guild in the collection of Copes on display, including the newest “black robes”. The collection includes embroidery designed and worked by Jacquie Binns, whose work is displayed in cathedrals, churches and private collections around the world. Also on display are the vibrant kneelers designed especially for St Albans by Sue Ellen Pedley.

Come and listen to this traditional service sung by the Abbey Girls Choir and men of the Cathedral Choir.
