The Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban

This Advent a new initiative of the Abbey will be making its way around shop windows and institutions in St Albans.
Every year a small set of knitted crib figures travels round from home to home in preparation for Christ's coming at Christmas.
The tiny figures are returned to the Abbey at the annual Crib Service.
This year a knitivity is going large with new knitted crib figures two and a half feet tall!
These have been made by Ann Hudson of the Abbey congregation.
They have taken seven months to knit with work totaling over 240 hours.
The figures have been modeled on the size of a three-year old child so that children can meet the holy family, the wise men and the shepherds face-to-face.
This year the large knitivity figures will return to the Carols on the Hour services on 19th December.
