Investigating EasterEaster is one of the major festivals of Christianity, and running throughout the Spring Term we have both a Trail and a Workshop aimed at investigating Easter in a fun and thought provoking way.
Easter Trail: The children will explore the Cathedral and learn the story of Easter, its significance to Christians, and how it is celebrated in the church today. They will add a new leaf to our Lent Tree, investigate the Stations of the Cross and discover the history of the Hot Cross Bun!
Easter Workshop: In this Workshop the children will learn about the signs and symbols of Easter, before each creating a clay tile design with an Easter symbol on it, which can then be taken back to school.
Each activity is 90 minutes long and costs only £3.95 per pupil. For more information about this event, or to book places for your students, please phone the Education Centre on 01727 890212.

St Albans Cathedral Education Centre hosts a Sixth Form Conference in the Nave of the Cathedral every November. This free event is now in its 10th year and is a unique opportunity to enable students to debate with a platform of speakers across a diverse range of subjects. It is seen as making an invaluable contribution to the post 16 Citizenship curriculum.
The format is based upon the BBC programme 'Question Time' and allows students the opportunity to ask ethical, political and global questions of themselves and others in order to make value judgements.
Last years Sixth Form Conference was held on Thursday 24th November, with a panel comprising of: His Honour Judge Andrew Bright QC, Resident Judge St Albans Crown Court; The Reverend Dr Giles Fraser, Canon Chancellor at St. Pauls Cathedral; Tobias Ellwood, Conservative MP for Bournemouth East and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Defence Secretary; Chris Bryant, Labour MP for Rhondda; Sandy Walkington, Liberal Democrat Candidate for St Albans. Once again the panel was chaired by the award winning journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed.
